Rapier is a type of weapon that first appeared in ADOM version 1.2.0. They are one handed Swords that grant a +1 bonus to both DV and PV whilst wielded. Iron rapiers have typical stats of (+0, 1d6+1), while eternium rapiers have typical stats of (+0, 2d6+8).
Desirability[]
They are decent weapons in the early game; an extra PV point is certainly quite useful in surviving the very early game. Compared to other weapons, they are superior to short swords and slightly less damaging than sabres (both types of weapons share the same weapon class and weight with rapiers). They make respectable weapons for two weapon combat due to their low weight.

They can be generated by the same ways as generic loot. Duelists of some races can start with a rapier.
