|Bit of gnomish candy ( % )|
Bits of gnomish candy are one of the basic types of food in ADOM. When eaten, they grant 50 times more satiation than plain candy of similar B/U/C status. See the Satiation Value table below for details.
It slightly abuses the Toughness stat, meaning it will decrease sometimes after eating gnomish candy (presumably because candy is bad for your health). Gnomish candy, unlike plain candy, cannot be given to children for an alignment boost; they will refuse to take it on the grounds that it is 'not good for your health'.
Food of some type is required in ADOM to ward off starvation and death. Gnomish candy is extremely weight efficient, but since it may reduce your Toughness over time when eaten (which can be counteracted by eating morgia roots), they should be kept for emergencies in any case. You should still pick up every bit of candy in the early game, when food may eventually turn into a problem, in hopes of gnomish candy.
They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot. Characters generated on October 31 (Hallowe'en) will start with 1d2 pieces of gnomish candy.
