Broadswords are one of the basic one-handed melee weapons in ADOM. Broadswords belong to the Swords weapon group, and benefit from and train the corresponding weapon skill.

DesirabilityEdit

They are useful for any player who specializes in swords or intends to specialize in swords. While iron and mithril broadswords are only useful fairly early in the game, adamantium and eternium broadswords can be potent weapons right up until the end of the game, especially if generated with a powerful prefix or suffix. Due to the unusually high weight, broadswords aren't good offhand weapons for two weapon combat: long swords, scimitars, and short swords are preferred.

Guaranteed/Common SourcesEdit

They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot.
