Cooked lizards are a special type of food in ADOM. They can only be purchased from ratling traders (for 4-5 gold pieces a piece) who themselves are normally found only in the Arena and the High Mountain Village. Alternatively, both cooked lizards and ratling traders can be wished for (although there is no guarantee that a wished for trader will sell cooked lizards). When eaten, cooked lizards grant a certain amount of satiation that depends on their B/U/C status. See the table below for details.

DesirabilityEdit

Food of some type is required in ADOM to ward off starvation and death. Unlike almost all other snacks sold by ratling traders cooked lizards are quite effective (an uncursed cooked lizard is equal in terms of satiation to an iron ration while weighing only 3 stones). Many players buy out all available lizards as soon as their PCs reach the Arena and forget about food problems till the end of the game. Note that it is possible to buy a stack of cursed lizards (for the same price) which are significantly less satiating. Scrolls of uncursing can be used to remedy the situation (holy water is ineffective, as it is only possible to bless less than 10 units with 1 potion).

Guaranteed/Common SourcesEdit

Cooked lizards can be purchased from ratling traders in the Arena (and occasionally in the High Mountain Village).
