Earth elemental is a type of monster in ADOM. They are very tough and rapidly regenerate, making them quite difficult to put down for some PCs. They are also able to pass through walls and fire rocks. Large amounts of earth elementals can be found in the Earth Temple, where they can hazardously surround the PC due to their ability to enter walls.
Like other creatures of stone, earth elementals can be damaged by either zapping a wand of digging or casting the Mystic Shovel spell at them; this seems to be enough damage to bring a healthy level 1 elemental to about "moderately damaged".

Monster memory[]
You see a large mass of stone, dirt, and clay, roughly jumbled into the shape of a man. It moves slowly but steadily, with no hesitation of any kind, occasionally moving into the ground or through a wall as if it were air! It keeps moving even as parts of its body fall off to the ground it came from.
