The emperor moloch is an NPC found in the bottom level of both the Scintillating Cave and the Ultimate Dungeon. He carries the crumpled scroll which he drops once slain; meaning the PC must defeat him if they want to obtain the Trident of the Red Rooster (provided they can keep the scroll in one piece).

He is by far the physically strongest and toughest monster in the game, with a PV of 200 and the capability to deal hundreds of damage in a single attack. Engaging him in melee is thus extremely risky. Since like all molochs he punches through armor, the PC's only defense against his attacks is DV; having extremely high HP is also a must for the PC. Phase daggers or weapons with the 'of penetration' suffix might be necessary to damage him; these weapons should be blessed to further increase damage output. Otherwise the PC will need a powerful weapon of demon or humanoid slaying and *huge* strength to bring his health down.

While it *is* possible to kill the moloch in straight up melee combat, ranged tactics may be a good idea for PCs lacking stellar endurance and/or strength scores; particularly since the moloch is easy to outrun and has no ranged attacks. He is immune to fire and cold, however, and has a high chance to shrug off other magical bolts. PCs relying instead on archery should use their stocks of blessed penetrating ammo against him.

Note that a wish for "emperor moloch", while he is still alive, will instead spawn about 20 hostile greater molochs. It is also worth noting that as well as the crumpled scroll, the emperor moloch is also guaranteed to drop his moloch armor when slain.

Special abilitiesEdit

Common statsEdit

Level: 3, DV: 4, PV: 200, Hits: 1500, Attacks: 1, Damage: 48-444, Speed: 85.

Corpse effectsEdit

Eating the emperor moloch, should he leave his corpse, grants increases of 6 to Strength and 8 to Toughness while decreasing Dexterity by 10. It also corrupts the PC (about 2 effects), and results in an alignment drop.

Monster memoryEdit

Malevolence incarnate, this heavily armored figure seems to be absolutely invincible... a solid mass of incredible evil. Working like time, slow but irresistible, the emperor moloch seeks to beat down any structure or power that reveals an underlying order. Its mighty fists wreak havoc and destruction upon everything crossing its way, leaving behind a blasted path of mayhem and shattered remains.
