Solar is a type of monster in ADOM. Solars are summoned as a punishment by very angry lawful deities, and are never spawned naturally (though the PC can wish for one, for whatever reason). They are tough and dangerous monsters that can paralyze the PC whenever their attacks damage him/her. They are immune to fire, cold and shock; PCs hoping to attack them (from afar) with spells will thus be confined to Acid Bolt/Ball or Magic Missile.

Monster memory[]
While these beings are possibly corporeal, they shine with a bright light that even a fire elemental would envy, seeming to be a fragment of sunlight brought down among the living. These are rumoured to the servants of the lawful gods sent to reward the worthy or extract divine retribution from the unworthy. They are fierce fighters, cutting through opponents as their light cuts the gloom and moving with the speed of, well, the light they embody.
