Blup the baby water dragon is a unique NPC in ADOM. He is the only non-human resident of Terinyo, so is not hard to spot there.
When 'C'hatted to, Blup will ask the PC if (s)he has seen his mommy—the great water dragon Shyssiryxius. Once the PC finds her, chats to her and returns to Blup with the news, (s)he will receive an alignment boost and (eventually) an artifact. More details can be found on Find Blup's Mom.
Blup has another use in the game: if the PC gives him two uncursed potions of carrot juice or one blessed one, he will teach the Swimming skill (unless the PC already has it). The uncursed potions must be given to him at the same time, or they will be wasted.
Bringing civil disorder to Terinyo will usually make him hostile, though if the PC is caught shoplifting without angering the rest of the populace, he will actually fight alongside Guth'Alak against the summoned thugs. Whilst not nearly as strong as his mommy, Blup's water breath attack is still something to be cautious of all the same.

Corpse effects[]
Eating a water dragon grants the water breathing intrinsic. Unfortunately, this is not a guaranteed drop—it seems rather rare, in fact.
Monster memory[]
A small dragon scaled in dark blue. Its yellow beady eyes filled with sorrow as it howls to the sky. As you approach the poor thing, you're filled with pity. Seeing the dragon crying its head off now and then makes your heart break.
