The assassin prince is a unique NPC found in the Assassins' Guild. On the Mad minstrel's behalf, he will give the Filk Quest if the PC is is carrying the artifact dagger Needle and if the PC has reached a minimum experience level: level 30 if the PC is an Assassin, level 45 otherwise. If the PC talks to the assassin prince after completing Sharad-Waador's quest but is not carrying Needle, he will ask the PC to show them a mark of their power (in other words, bring Needle).
The assassin prince carries Needle's companion dagger, Sting; however, he will not give it willingly. The PC must kill him for the dagger to appear. The assassin prince is a formidable opponent in melee, with very high defensive stats and multiple poisonous penetrating attacks per turn. These attacks are hard to dodge, even for PCs with very high DV (100+). He does not possess any ranged attacks, though his speed can enable him to close the distance quickly. He is susceptible to disablers such as thrown potions of blindness or stun rays.

Monster memory[]
This man is very unimpressive and appears to be able to blend into any crowd without difficulty. There are no special marks on him and nothing exceptional can be noticed... if he doesn't want it. He regards you with a calm gaze and just for a short moment shows his true visage: that of a calculating mastermind and relentless killer. This gaze nearly makes your heart stop.
