Gauntlets of peace are one of the more useless types of Gauntlets in ADOM. They have base stats of (-15, -15) [+3, +3] (with occasional variation), meaning that they lower both melee and missile to-hit by 15. They also immediately curse themselves on equipping.
Desirability[]
They are not very useful to any players that wish to ever engage in combat - in fact, they are positively harmful. The bonuses to armor are not enough to compensate for this. Players that don't intend to use melee or missile weapons to begin with, i.e. spellcasters, might get some use out of these. They *can* be dropped as bait in the event the character is fleeing a humanoid, melee-oriented monster; the monster that passes over them is likely to pick them up and equip them.
