Large rust monster is a type of monster in ADOM. Like smaller rust monsters, large rust monsters have a special attack in melee range that allow them to rust any (non-artifact) iron item the PC has equipped or destroy any rusty item they have equipped. They are considerably tougher than smaller rust monsters, thus are a lot more of a nuisance.
All rust monsters can have their rusting powers 'cured' by throwing an oil of rust removal at them. As their monster memory description implies, unlike smaller rust monsters large rust monsters cannot be calmed by throwing iron-made items at them.

Rust monsters don't leave corpses.
Like their smaller cousins, large rust monsters were trapped in the Drakalor Chain against their will. These huge creatures suffer a lot from the inadequacy of their new environment. As they never seem to find enough minerals and metals to keep themselves fed, they are constantly in a very bad mood and attack everything that moves — including *you* should you be unfortunate enough to cross their path. You can try and feed them some spare quarrels from your inventory, but as a rule, large rust monsters are very hard to please. So before your most cherished equipment begins to rust — run away, run away!
