Lust for Glory is an artifact shield in ADOM. It provides limited defense, high protection, a bonus of +3 to Willpower and confers petrification resistance, death ray resistance, and paralyzation resistance.
Its unidentified form is a small shield which, along with its weight of 50 stones, makes it almost indistinguishable from common small shields — the only difference is that Lust for Glory has a darker color when observed lying on the floor.
Desirability[]
Since shield weapon skill bonuses are limited by the item's DV, Lust for Glory is not particularly powerful in its primary capacity. On the other hand, it boasts respectable PV and two rare intrinsics — death ray and paralyzation resistances — indispensable against several powerful monsters and bosses in ADOM. The minor Willpower bonus is effective on spellcaster PCs (who can also use Coward tactics to offset the low inherent DV) to boost spell damage and range.

Lust of Glory can be generated through pre/postcrowning, as a surge of power or the reward for using the potion of uselessness on D:49. Alternatively, it can be found in a greater vault, dropped by the minotaur emperor or generated as common loot (very rarely).
