|Nature's Companion ( [ )|
|Item Type||Body armor|
Nature's Companion is an artifact leather armor. It is non-guaranteed. The unidentified form is "leather armor" and only its weight of 120s (versus 150s for standard leather armor) alert the player to what they have discovered.
Ardently desirable to virtually all PCs. Nature's Companion grants a huge boost to speed, along with immunity to fire and shock, the two most useful of the elemental immunities. Its PV bonus is lower than some armors (including artifacts like Perion's mithril plate mail and the robes of resistance), but the speed bonus and the immunities it confers add a lot to its usefulness.
As with all non-guaranteed artifacts, Nature's Companion is a possibility via precrowning. It's also a crowning gift possibility for beastfighters, druids, and Rangers. As an artifact, it cannot be wished for, but it may occasionally appear as a prize in a greater vault or a surge of power. Rarely, it may be generated as ordinary loot.
