Plate mail is one of the basic types of body armor in ADOM. It consists of a coat of chain mail with some number of embedded plates for added protection. It comes in six varieties based on the material from which it is made.

Desirability[]

Plate mail provides the best protection among ADOM basic armor types (ring, scale, chain, splint, plate) and is rivaled only by full plate armor added in version 1.2.0. Naturally, it is heavier than other basic types of armor, although the difference becomes marginal for higher metals.

Guaranteed/Common Sources[]

They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot. Eternium plate mail is often dropped by Chaos knights and Chaos warriors. The Dwarven guardian spirit drops a vigilant truesilver plate mail of protection when it is destroyed. One of the statues in Bug Temple yields a vigilant adamantium plate mail of traveling when destroyed.
