Potions of invisibility are potions that, when drunk, temporarily make the player invisible.
If they are cursed, however, they make everything invisible for the player - he becomes blind for a period of time. Note that the potion can be thrown at monsters for the same effect — non-cursed potions making them invisible, cursed ones blinding them. Non-immune monsters have around a 50% chance to resist this, with more experienced monsters being more likely to resist
If a monster has one in its possession (picked up from the floor), it can decide to drink it to become invisible.
Desirability[]
Invisibility can be very helpful in many places where hordes of monsters have to be fought without a bottleneck nearby, or if you need to dive into the fray in order to seek out a particular enemy. Invisibility is, however, also available from rings of invisibility, robes of invisibility or cloaks of invisibility or the Invisibility spell.
Since blindness is such a powerful effect on enemy monsters and potions of blindness can be somewhat rare, cursed potions of invisibility can be considered more useful than their non-cursed counterparts.
Guaranteed/Common sources[]
They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot.
