RNG

RNG is an acronym for "random number generator" that is commonly used by ADOM players. Since the vast majority of the game is randomly generated (e.g. most dungeons, item generation, monster generation, etc. are all largely based on random processes), players often attribute their good (or more often bad) luck to the whims of the RNG. The RNG is often personified by players much like a fickle deity, known for rare moments of benevolence interspersed between regions ranging from benign neglect to terrifying malice. (For this reason RNG is also often taken to refer to the terrifying "Random Number God".)
