|Ring of elemental mastery ( = )|
Rings of elemental mastery grant immunity to fire, cold and lightning. They can also modify DV and PV by up to (minus) three points. Oddly they are generally no more difficult to find than rings of minor elemental mastery.
Their unidentified appearance is usually "emerald ring".
One of the most coveted non-artifact rings in ADOM. Elemental damage sources are highly prevalent throughout the game, and this ring removes all of them except for acid — which is arguably the least common type.
This one ring at a stroke solves the problem of acquiring three counts of fire resistance for the Tower of Eternal Flames, makes the Air Temple and Blue Dragon Caves dramatically more survivable, and proves exceptionally useful in the Ice Queen's domain. Really, this is an absurdly powerful item that all but the most advanced characters will likely keep on their fingers full-time.
Sadly for mist elves, it is made of iron.
They can be generated in the same manner as all generic loot, although they're very rare. A large stack of identical rings can be dipped in potions of exchange on a high-DL location, in hopes of obtaining one (especially as of v1.2.0).
