The ruined libram is found on the fifth level of the moldy dungeon if any of the following conditions are met when the PC enters the level:

• The PC has gained more than 90,160 experience points.
• The PC is carrying more than 90,160 gold pieces.
• More than 90,160 turns have passed.

If none of the above conditions apply, the tome of donors will be found instead.

Unfortunately, the ruined libram is useless. If the PC tries to read it, the following message is displayed:

"This enormous libram seems to have contained stories about many famous heroes and heroines of Ancardia. Sadly time and the teeth of vile creatures seem to have taken its toll so that nowadays the former content is no longer legible."

Desirability

Although there is no direct use for the ruined libram itself, the PC can dip it into a potion of raw chaos in the hope of turning it into a useful spellbook. For any spellcasting PC who has difficulty finding books, this purpose alone can make the libram worth obtaining.
