|Wand of far slaying ( \ )|
Wands of far slaying are wands that, when "z"apped, shoot an energy ray in any of the eight directions, which causes 1d6 damage per hit.
They are useful, but dangerous. Currently (in r65 verified and p20+ likely) character is hit for 1d6, while monster receive 1d6+PV damage. Thus, wand has decent damage output if bounced into long corridors, closed doors or in some cases it might be beneficial to soak damage since monster with high PV will be hit for significantly more. The ray bounces and is longer the more PP is invested in it. It is hard to use the wand indoors and not hit the PC. It can still be useful to invest low energy in it and wake boss enemies in a temple.
It was used with an amulet of life saving for causing multiple bounces through character and monsters and kill both, abusing the fact player will be resurrected by the amulet. So far this has only been used in certain challenge games.
Shambling mounds will absorb far slaying shots, growing in power.
They can be obtained in the same manner as all generic loot.
